Your trust matters to us. This page explains what personal information Zeeoma Foundation collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Effective 20 October 2026
In this policy
In short: we collect only what we need to run our programs, answer you and organise events. We never sell your personal information. Payments are handled by our fiscal sponsor, YouthBridge, so we do not see or store your card details.
Zeeoma Foundation (“Zeeoma”, “we”, “us”) is a social enterprise that bridges emerging African creative brands and young entrepreneurs through our programs, including The Open Door, Dinner, Dress & Dialogue and Rooted & Rising. We work from two hubs: St. Louis, Missouri, USA and Lagos, Nigeria. This policy applies to this website (zeeoma.org) and to the forms, events and campaigns linked from it.
For the purposes of data protection law, Zeeoma Foundation is the controller of the personal information described here, except where we say another organisation handles it (see section 4).
| When | What we collect |
|---|---|
| You contact us or join the Collective | Your name, email address, your area of interest and any message you write. |
| You subscribe to our newsletter | Your email address. |
| You apply to the Youth Open Call | The details requested on the application form: name, contact details, age or age range, location, and the video, voice note, drawing, slideshow or writing you submit. A parent, teacher or mentor may apply on a young person’s behalf, in which case we also receive their contact details. |
| You apply to The Open Door, become a partner, sponsor, donor or auction bidder | Your name, organisation, role, email, phone number, and any information you choose to share about your brand, products or interest. |
| You give, buy gala tickets or sponsor | Payments are made on a page run by YouthBridge Community Foundation. We receive limited details such as your name, email, the amount and the gift or ticket type so we can thank you, issue acknowledgements and plan the event. We do not receive your card number. |
| You attend an event | Name, dietary or accessibility needs you tell us about, and photographs or video taken at the event (see below). |
| You visit the site | Basic technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, which is generated when any web page is delivered to you. |
Please do not send us sensitive information (such as health details or government ID numbers) unless we ask for it. If you tell us about an accessibility or dietary need so we can support you, we will use it only for that purpose.
We may photograph or film our events, including the Rooted & Rising Gala, to share on our website and social channels. Notices will be displayed at the venue, and you can ask a member of the team to keep you out of images. We will always ask for written consent, and from a parent or guardian where applicable, before using identifiable images of young people in our promotion.
Our legal bases are your consent (newsletter, images, applications), our legitimate interests in running and improving our programs, performing a contract or taking steps you ask for (tickets, sponsorships), and legal obligation. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with:
Applications from young people are never shared publicly without separate permission from the young person and, if under 18, a parent or guardian.
The Youth Open Call is open to people aged 14 to 24. We take extra care with the information of young people.
This website does not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If we add analytics or marketing tools in future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires, ask for your consent first.
